Another one bites the dust

This is what I was greeted with as I opened the blinds in the dining room Monday morning. Thanks Fay. It could have been MUCH worse. The tree could have fallen another direction and very easily fallen on the house or the neighbors' fence/yard. This is the THIRD tree that has fallen in our backyard in the 5 months that we've lived here! What?! The first two were dead and fell on a beautiful sunny day. This tree, on the other hand, appears to be very much alive, so I guess the ground got so wet that it just got uprooted. It is wedged in the large oak tree and for now that is where it will stay. Too bad we're not in the tree felling business. Just another adventure to welcome us to home ownership.

Oh my gosh, what a pain and now Hurricane Gustav might be coming. That area is just full of trees, Moms is the same way, little skinny pine trees. Good luck--ugghhh houses!

So glad it didn't end up on your house!! Looks like you'll have a lot of firewood for this winter. Fay is gone and we all hope Gustav leaves us alone.
