Our New Nephew

My (Robyn) sister had a baby boy yesterday morning. Nathan is 10 pounds 8 ounces and 20 inches long. Honestly though he doesn't look or feel that big to me. He is precious and seems to be a good mix of Streed and Ella.

Exersaucer

Thanks again Aunt Val, Uncle Matt, Aunt Lisa and Uncle Erik for the exersaucer. It usually keeps Taylor occuppied for quite some time. In the second picture she's either waving or riding in the rodeo...you pick. And in the other ones, she's just being her cute little self!

Tooth #2

The second tooth on the bottom is now coming through. She won't let me get a picture of it but once they come through more I'm sure they'll show when she smiles. It can be felt quite easily and you can barely see a little bit of it, too. The first tooth is still working its way up. They must have been bothering her alot last night because she woke up several times...therefore I am very tired today. Too bad I had to go to work this morning :(

I found them!

I found my feet and they are so much fun to play with! I like to grab on to them throughout the day - especially when I'm on my changing table, rolling around on the floor, and sitting in my Bumbo chair. Also, I'm learning to sit up by myself! I'm getting to be such a big girl.

Her first dislike

I found something that Taylor doesn't like to eat...avacado. I gave it to her last week and she did not like it at all! I don't mean that she just made a face indicating that didn't care for it. I mean she gagged and spit it out. I took a picture and a video but the picture doesn't show her disdain and I don't know how to put the video on here. So you'll have to take my word for it. Other than that she's liked everything I've given her. She didn't love bananas but she would eat them. She's had sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, butternut squash, and rice cereal of course. I'll feed her the butternut squash again today and tomorrow, then it's on to green peas. Thanks Jonathan and Chat for the So Easy Baby Food Kit! We're going to save a ton of money by making most of her baby food.

I've got a crush on you

Yesterday morning I kept Jayden while Amy went to work for just a short while. Taylor was asleep when he arrived so just the two of us played. When I brought Taylor out to the den after she woke up she looked at Jayden for a second then smiled really big! Then he smiled. I think they're buds now. Actually I think they have a crush on one another. They were watching Praise Baby together and just chillin'. When I looked over and saw this I quickly grabbed the camera while saying, "Please don't move, please don't move, just let me capture this on camera." And they were obedient little children. I think Taylor liked his hair because it's curly. How cute and funny is this picture?! I promise I didn't pose them.

Oh, What a Night!

Taylor didn't sleep well last night...and neither did her Mommy and Daddy! She woke up 3 or 4 times which is not only way out of character for her (as she has been sleeping through the night for about month and a half now), but also weird because before I pictured me telling my client this morning that I had a rough night because Taylor woke up 3 times. Weird. I must be psychic. So back to Taylor's waking - she is teething so I'm sure that is one cause but I'm thinking she may be having a growth spurt also. On one hand I feel like the teething process has been slow going because she's been chewing on stuff and drooling a lot for at least 2 months now. But on the other hand it has seemed quick lately because just about a week and a half ago is when I saw two little white bumps on her bottom gums, then by last Thursday I could see one of them starting to break through, and Saturday morning I could actually feel her tooth! It brought tears to my eyes. Really. If we hadn't been in public I may have let them flow. These little milestones are so bittersweet. As soon as I can get a good picture of her tooth I'll post it. Until then, you'll just have to take my word for it.

6 month stats

This past Wednesday Taylor had her 6 month check-up. Everything went fine and the doctor said that she is developing well. She weighs 15 pounds 2 ounces and is 26 inches long. She is in the 50th percentile for weight and length. She got several vaccinations and a flu shot but didn't like any of them.

She is continuing to eat more veggies and has now eaten sweet potatoes and carrots. She likes both of them and eats them without fussing.

Super Tuesday

Here is how we spent our day:

1. Celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary
2. Voted
3. Took Taylor to her first Mardi Gras parade

All in all, it's been a super Tuesday!
